I’m a 35 year old Army veteran living in Columbia, SC (US). I am married to a wonderful schoolteacher who has put up with me for 9 years now. We have four children together; three boys born in 2007, 2014, and 2016, and a daughter born in 2010. I also have a son from a previous relationship, born in 2006. I have been working in Information Technology since I left the U.S. Army in 2007, and am unemployed since 2018. I now work side jobs, take care of the 4 kiddos I have in my home, and try to keep the house cleaned up for my hardworking wife.
I have decided to start blogging on the topic of fatherhood and everything that is involved in my attempt to succeed in this challenging field.
Since becoming unemployed, I have come to the realization that I was not the father I thought I was.
I have now committed to taking care of my family first, and everything else second. My goal is to be a Stay At Home Dad, start my own home-based business, and lead my family into a brighter future.
Daddy’s On Duty: the Blog
Daddy’s on Duty is a blog about my journey in “taking back Fatherhood, one mistake at a time”. I intend to right the wrongs and correct the mistakes I have been making since becoming a father.
This blog covers everything from:
- DIY and Making Things
- Dad Jokes
- And much more
Hopefully I will be able to entertain and possibly even help some of you along my way. I will be asking for advice from time to time, so keep coming back and free to comment on anything and everything.
Daddy’s on Duty on Twitter
I am very active on twitter and would love for you to contact and even follow me there at @daddysonduty
On the @daddysonduty twitter page, you’ll get a glimpse into the life of a real, live, ordinary dad trying his best to help his family survive. I’m in no way perfect or an expert at parenting, fatherhood, or marriage. This should prove very entertaining, as I will be posting the good, the bad, and the funny.
